You can't steal from social-security

Unless you can get away with it forever.
Can you do that for sure? We don't have the numbers of people who have gotten away with it but we do know about the ones that get caught.

 On September 5th 2012 a trio of folks living in Amherst Junction had gotten away with stealing $170,000 from her dead mother. 

Whether she had died was actually still in question although she would be a hundred years old by now. 

 Then later that day they all got arrested for the theft.

There is now some small evidence so far that her own daughter might have killed her 30 years ago and she and her husband buried the dead body...

Dolores Disher who is charged with 4 felonies, is 69 years old and her current husband Ronald Disher who is 71 along with her brother Charles Jost 66 were the ones who pulled the caper off.

The dead mother of Dolores last seen in 1982, was Marie Jost pictured here on the left a long time ago. 

The social-security people wondered how a person could live to be 100 years old and never use any of the medical benefits due to her.

The money was rolling in

They kept getting the mothers social security checks and cashing them as the years went by and spent the money. There was $8,000 found in the Dishers home and their brother's home had $9,000 in a fanny pack.

When the husband was in lock up he told a couple of other prisoners that this wife had killed the mother and that they had buried her corpse together some 30 years ago.

Denies this and suggested this (can you believe it!) "Jost gave the money to the Dishers".

The 66 year old brother Charles has been ordered to undergo a psychiatric exam to learn if he is stable enough to help to defend himself with a laywer.

These stories come up every once in a while and still people have gotten away with the thefts. 

Warning

If any of you are currently stealing from Social-Security I urge you to stop before you get arrested and end up in jail for a long time.

Although for some folks that would work out as there are free meals and a roof over your head which social security can't always pay for.
